I went to the Jonathan Rice, David Bazan, Ben Gibbard show in Portland, Jenny Lewis sang as well. It was great. I got to chill a little with Dave afterward; what a cool guy he is, introspective, considerate, great musician. I heard a little of Ben talking to Colin Meloy about their music and the success of other bands of the area. Seems like all those artists really stick together and have such positive relationships with each other, it makes the fruits of their labor much more sincere/positive.

i think the real question we need to address is....why does it matter? why are some people constantly concerned with their image. of course people have styles, trends, whatever that they're partial to. But i think when people become obsessed and start commenting to people about how they may or may not be posers...well it's a little pathetic. i've seen it a lot with people i know and interact with. i was hoping i had left that stage in my life where being "cool" is something people strive to be. i just wish people would be who they want to be without too much concern with what everyone thinks of them. but that's not possible till people stop being judgmental. you are who you are julian...skinny jeans and all! and..let me know what the name of that band is!
